Personally I would take it one step further, it's nice to flirt and a bit of flirtatious fun is harmless. However, why not engage yourself into conversation with him, this way you will have a clear understanding of where you stand with him.
Start with something simple... ask him a question regarding your membership... you will be able to get the vibes depending on the response he gives you.
