writes:Hello all, I come to you with a odd question, considering how many people seem to be posting about wanting to go out with a friend. There's a girl in my class who is sexy, funny and smart, she laughs at all my jokes and is very friendly whenever we talk. But here's the problem: I just want to be friends with her, I find her an interesting person and I think we have great talks, however she doesn't 'get to me', she's beautiful but she doesn't attract me, and she can be a little childish (which I find annoying). She's used to all guys hitting on her (I think she thinks I am too) and is used to keeping guys at a distance (as far as I know she has one good male friend, that is also my good friend). How do I make friends with her? Things aren't helped by the fact that another friend of mine, who likes her, thinks she likes me and I believe he's been telling people I like her (I always defended her in conversations when he had decided she was a bitch for a period). How do I make it clear that I just want to be friends and not become her pet/lover?

 First of all if she ever does try to flirt with you maybe just sort of give her the cold shoulder and ignore it. maybe that will give her the sense you are not intrested in anything like that.
Make sure to tell your friend not to spread anymore rumours as you don't want her getting the wrong impression.
You could just tell her up front that you see her as just a friend and you don't want her seeing you as anything else, but if she does like you you ovbiously don't want to hurt her feelings.
Maybe you could just come up with a sort of excuss mention your not particually intrested in a relotionship with anyone right now, or perhaps you like someone else. Or maybe just tell her you see her as more of a kinda sister or close friend.

Just be a friend and tell her straight up like good friends do... of course dont tell her shes annoying though because you dont want to upset her too much. Hope this helps ya.
