I got called and Elephant and took it to heart. What is the average weight for a 5'3 girl anyway?

Hi!

I have had this problem for 3 weeks now and it's making me feel so down, drained, and depressed!

To put it in a short version....well....I got called fat (an elephant) and I took it to heart and I starved myself for about 3-4 days....but I wasn't eating properly after that and now everytime I eat, I'm sick after....time can vary from straight after to around 3 hours later....But the other unusual thing is that I'm still sick if I don't eat too!!!!

I was also wondering what the average weight for a 5ft 3 female is (in stone, please)

rcn agony auntNo it's not as easy as it sounds. I want you to try eating small amounts to build yourself back up. Each time remind yourself it is unhealthy not to eat. I will become sick if I don't eat. If I am happy with myself, no other comments matter.

If you continue this way, you'll need to speak to your parents and seek professional help. I know you don't want to, but when it's necessary it has to happen.

Dustin587 agony auntYou're on your way to an eating disorder. Never starve yourself no matter what. Not only are you doing your body serious harm, you are going to gain that weight back. Don't let other kids get to you like they have. If you want to lose weight, start a HEALTHY diet and start exercising regularly. You will feel much better about yourself AND lose the weight. I have seen so many people screw themselves up via bulimia or anorexia. I had a drug-induced anorexia (My pills made me lose my appetite). I truly thought I was going to die. I couldn't swallow my food. Don't force yourself into an eating disorder - it will destroy your life. As for average weight, don't worry about it. Be the weight YOU want to be. Unless a doctor states that you MUST lose weight (aka obesity), do what feels best for you. But NEVER starve yourself.

For goodness sakes, stop treating yourself this way. You have to eat and be healthy to thrive. Who called you fat, by the way? Don't let this person's cruelty and their need to insult you, take you down? If it was a person in your social circle at school, please take note. If you want to be a winner, learn to hang out with winners. Being a winner has nothing to do with a' number on a scale'. It has to do with self-love and self-acceptance, just for who you are. So if you find yourself surrounded by asses, complainers, backstabbers who insult you...I think it's time you choose to spend time with more positive, energetic, supportive people. Every single human being does not have the best weight, nor the best nose, nor the best lips, nor the best hair, but that does not mean as people we are worthy of respect and living a good life.. Teenage females have this assumption that if they aren't a specific weight and if they only concentrate on that one thing about themselves, then they are inadequate. Why do that to yourself? You have to be able to develop and grow the confidence, courage and strength, to overcome the stupid remarks like what this person told you. If we only see the glass as half-empty then we will always be thirsty. Build up your confidence, dump the people who 'take you down' and love yourself for just who you are.

rcn agony auntWhy are you letting someone affect you this way. What does it matter what they think. What matters is what you do.

Stop starving yourself, do you know what happens to kids who begin some of these behaviors?

You need to immediately tell someone about this. Either your mom, or a counselor at school. This is something that shall not be taken lightly, and brushed off as being normal.

What happens it's considered to be a type of extreme worry. Worry that goes above just about any other form. When we experience this type, our brains associate out looks with the worry, so we begin viewing ourselves in that way. It doesn't matter what we actually look at. Our brains play many tricks on us.

If you are really worried about how you look, instead of starving yourself, see a nutritionist. Not eating eliminates that days worth of essential vitamins your body needs to operate correctly. I am worried about the behavior you had. Seek some help to get this worked out. Please remember there aren't any boys who's comments are really that important.

On Cloud9 agony auntI am so sorry to hear that some immature boy or girl called you that name. But remember that is all they are, some kid that doesn't know any better and you should not risk your life over them.

Speak to your mum and tell her how upset you are, or if you can't speak to her, then someone you can trust (teacher/auntie etc etc) and they will help you find out how to loose weight safely. You can get help through a Doctor too and can put you on a healthy eating programme. I would recommend you start an exercise regime too, maybe a self defence class, and you will keep fit and stay in shape and learn good self defence moves should you ever need it (helps build confidence also) and you will met new friends.

PLEASE REMEMBER - There is nothing to be gained through not eating at all, ALL that will happen is you will get very ill (as you are already experiencing) and it can be fatal. You need food to live.

You can loose weight by eating healthier and exercising and it can be fun, don't do it the dangerous way.

hey,

don't take it to heart, if people are going to call you then there normally just jealous.

don't starve oyurself - its the worst thing you can do as it could lead to bulleimia and anorexia.

yu may have to consult a doctor about the sick thing.

i wouldn't say that there is a specific average weight for a 5ft3'' female but i think its around 130 pounds which is around 9stone 3.. im 5ft2'' and im about 8stone 9. and i thought i was pretty fat for my height but turns out im about right (apparently).

i hope the sick thing starts to get better the more you eat.

hi dear....i am a dietician...well yr average wiegth acoordin to height shud b around 53-55....wen i was around 18,i was also named baby elephant but i had a very gud skin n lustrous hair....i went into a strict dieting n fell sick....it took me a year to recover...the worst part was tht i lost 60% of my hair n my skin is not tht flawless nymore....i advice u to excercise n cut down on yr calories...eat but eat healthy....take care

Fairy_Lu agony auntFirst of all starving yourself is a HUGE no no! Ive suffered with an eating disorder and thats how it starts and its so dangerous! To lose weight you have to eat 3 meals a day, no joke because skipping meals makes you put on weight (no really it does) your body goes into starvation mode because it doesnt know when the next meal is so anything you eat after skipping meals goes on straight away, excercise and a well balanced diet is the only way to lose weight cut out biscuits and crisps and the weight will come right off, your young your still going through puberty and most people get whats called puppy fat and it goes pretty quickly, im 5ft3 aswell but i wont tell you my weight because my BMI is low, if your worried about your weight go and see your doctor and get an opinion from a medical professional.

As for being sick now your stomach has shrunk and you need to fill it out again by eating little meals often, so instead of 3 big meals have 6 little means to re train your stomach.

Kids can be very very cruel especially in secondary school but dont let the bullies get you down sweetie there probably very unhappy inside you are beautiful inside and out learn to love yourself and be happy with YOU!
