Last night me and my girlfriend were watching a film and I fell asleep on her. Anyway I woke up on the sofa under a blanket. She left a note saying 'good to see you found my company so interesting, sleep well babe". I'm really embarrassed and I haven't spoken to her since what should I say to her?

Just say thanks for the blanket and tell her shes lovely for covering you up to keep you warm. We all fall asleep sometimes. Ive done it in the middle of love making...mind you...he was taking his sweet time kissing my back! But im still with him...so i think you will be forgiven if you were just watching some boring old film when you conked out. Laugh it off x

Say hi. Then say that you're really sorry about falling asleep while she was there and then say you'd like to make it up to her.

I think your girlfriend should see it as a good sign, it means that you are comfortable in her company.

The Realist agony auntWatching a film is not really being in ones company its more like being in the company of the movie. Start with an apology and maybe dinner or something to show that you care. You were probably tired from the day and the movie must not have interested you, its not like you fell asleep during sex. She could have left a worse not if she was really mad. Apologize and I'm sure that she will understand.

Aww, that's really sweet. Why are you embarrassed? She sounds a caring girlfriend, and she has a sense of humour to go with it.

Why don't you thank her for the blanket and say if you ever boring her to death then she is welcome to fall asleep on you too?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (25 March 2010):

Don't worry about it, since when was falling to sleep wrong? She didn't think it was bad the fact she put 'Sleep well, babe' She probably found it really cute.

When you see her just tell her you're sorry but you were really tired and laugh about it.
