A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I have been with my boyfriend for almost one and a half years. I love him but hes needy and doesnt have many friends and no family so im the only one hes got. Hes very jealous and quite possessive but im very independant and have my own life. I have not let him control that side of me. He is however an amazing guy and no one has ever loved me as much as he does, but this could possibly be unhealthy.

Anyway I went away for 2 weeks and met this guy who was completely the oppposite to my boyfriend. There was instant chemistry and nothing happened until the last night. Now i cant stop thinking about him and i really dont know what to do about my boyfriend as i do still love him and i dont want to hurt him. I know this guy represents everything that is missing in my relationship and i have tried telling this other guy that i need space but then i always cave and text him. We havent seen eachother since but have a flirty relationship through text! Ahhh what shall i do as there is a part of me that doesnt want to work it out with my boyfriend and i just feel so pulled in two directions right now i dont know what to do!!!!!! HELP

If u could put both of them together , u would have a perfect man , but since u cant u have to ask ur self if this new guy is really worth the effort...

I too is in a relationship like this, one thing I know for sure is that I will never tell my husband that I have been unfaithfull , and secondly I will never leave my husband for another guy... u know what u have but u not sure this guy can live up to ur expectation..

The moment you cheated, you discovered that your boyfriend was not the one for you.

Denizli agony auntI was in your situation before, this guy also gave me what my boyfriend didn't, if you put them together to make an only man, he would be the most perfect thing in the universe lol

but unfortunately it wasn't possible, and I had to make a decision, because it wasn't far for any of both, especially for my boyfriend because I LOVE him and i decided I wanted to stay with him and also I wasn't sure about the other guy, I think after all it was just lust and stupid curiosity what attracted me in him and it wasn't worth to dump my 2 year guy for this new other guy.

You have to make the decision soon because cheating sucks, and karma's a bitch. If you decide to stay with your boyfriend you should talk to him, tell him what you think it's missing in your relationship.

But if you don't love your boyfriend anymore or think you could be happier with this other guy don't feel bad and tell him about it, there can't be anything worse than cheating and deceiving people making them believe something. How would you feel if you were your boyfriend and he did this to you? think about it.

You'll hurt him more if you keep cheating on him than if you just break up with him in good terms.

The fact is - you already cheated. He is obviously not "the one" if there is something missing in your relationship, and leaves you wanting something different. If he was the one for you, my advise would be to tell him what you did and see if you two could work through it, but it sounds like breaking up with your boyfriend and looking for the one that is right for you might make you better off in the long run. Either way, you won't feel right if you stay with your boyfriend, hide the affair from him, and continue to communicate with the other guy.
