 If you tell her you'll only put her in an awkward situation and if she's already started seeing this boy then she'll most likely tell him too so DON'T MENTION IT. You'll have to sit this one out I'm afraid and hope they don't get along.

 Unfortunately you have made your bed, and now I'm afraid you will have to lie in it. I can't imagine what compelled you to set up the guy you are desperate for with your best friend. Telling them now will most likely damage relations with both of them, so you will have to wait it out now. If they like each other, tough luck...if they don't then you still have a chance.

reader, anonymous, writes (16 March 2007): I did that before but my best friend knew I liked him but I fixed her up with him and they didnt work out because he cheated but I think you should let them try it out then when they break up see if your friend feels ok if you all go out and if she doesn't if you all are best friends will get over it if she is a true friend.
