writes: Hello. So I've mentioned this before...a person I like in my class. Its almost been a year and I still like this person. We certainly are good friends now but it stops at that. I don't feel as bad as I used to about the fact that most probably nothing will happen between us. But I still do like him a lot and I don't/ avoid dating other guys just so that I don't give out the wrong message to him. I've tried my best never to be all over him or make it too obvious that I like him. My friends think he might have an idea but frankly I don't even think so. So I tried to get over him, but its just so hard. I just can't get over him...I am really sick of being in this position--seeing all my friends date and have a good time vis a vis me, someone who can't get over someone or put it aside. So I'm trapped. I don't know how to go about this. I can't tell him that I like him as its going to lead to the most awkward situation. How do I drop a subtle hint ? I ask this question because I really like him...but will it be right to move on/get over him ? I tried that too...but its just not possible. So Someone Please Help !

If you want to get over him, you have to cut contact. Completely. It's clear he's not interested at all in you as a girlfriend, because if he was he would have made a move. If you want to get over him, you need him out of your life.

Either you grow a pair and tell him or you stop hanging out with him. If you guys are such good friends, then if u tell him u have feelings for him and he doesn't feel the same then yes it will be awkward for awhile, but then just tell him that u understand that he doesn't feel the same way but u still want to maintain a friendship with him and move on. But what if he does like u also? Tell him. then let me know what happens :)

ask him to grab a bite after class . . . get the two of you alone. Then take it from there. You can't just drop subtle hints since it obviously isn't doing anything
