I'm 17 and a half right now, what is the earliest/latest puberty ends and how will I know?

You missed the point if you thought the answer was about back hair. Back hair is an example, you can put anything else in there (such as your hight, your penis size, you name it), instead of back hair, and the answer is the same.

ClearEyes is verified as being by the original poster of the questionNot to be asinine, but my question was not when will I get back hair, it was what are some signs that the "rapid period of growth" is ending. I now understand that it doesn't work like that, my dad says he shaves every day, I need about 2-3 days of growth to be shave worthy, neither of my parents have or had acne, they said they stopped getting it when they stopped puberty.

There's no clear end. People get out of puberty normally at age 18-20, however the acne can last you a life time. Look to your parents to see how you will develop. If your parents had acne, or bad acne breakouts, it is most probably a genetic thing, and not a hormonal thing, that you have acne as well. In the severe cases I recommend you see a dermatologist to get treatment for your acne. They often treat you after puberty is likely to have ended, age 20-25 for example.
Some men also have a last growing spurt after puberty. And the hairs continually develop and change pattern through your life. You can have no facial hair or back hair now, but then at age 40 you will get tons... it happens. Again, the best answer you will get from looking at your father, or your uncles. If they all have tons of backhair, then most likely you will develop that as well. Just ask them when they got it, or when they developed this or that, and thats likely to be the time when you will.

It doesn't work like that. You mature and change your whole life. "Puberty" is a period of rapid changes that usually ends between the ages of 18 and 21, but that doesn't mean you just magically become the "adult" you. There's no way to know some of what you're asking. For example, I didn't start getting back hair till around age 24/25.
