Well, you could get one of those test that "work" up to 3 days before the day you should get your period. However my wife had 3 false negatives (2 with the "early" tests and one with the regular one). The blood test finally confirmed what she already knew, that she was pregnant.
So there ARE urine tests that are early, but I wouldn't trust them at all. If you want to be sure, go get the blood test.
BTW, you early on you have to take 2 tests -- one to establish the level of the pregnancy hormone in your system, and the second one a day or so later to see whether it's increased (which it does dramatically every day when you're pregnant).
Hope you get the answer you're looking for, either way.

Blood test a lot more accurate than urine! I think an accurate result would be about 2 weeks from conception. Urine samples have different testing capabilities ranging from a week after you were supposed to have your period up to a couple of days before. GL!

Some tests can tell within three days of your period. I'm not 100% sure but if it has been a week or more try testing yourself, or do what I did and go to the doctor and have them test you for free :)
