A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

For my boyfriend's 18th birthday, do you think it would be a good idea to get a hotel in London for a few days, and book tickets to attractions I think he'd like; he's never been before but has always wanted to. I am already eighteen and we've been together just over 2 years. :) I just wanted some opinions, because I wanna make this birthday special for him.

CindyCares agony aunt It's a fantastic idea ! I wish somebody would give me a present like this !

Careful with the expenses. Hotel accomodation should not be a big problem, plenty of affordable ,decent little hotels in Earl's Court or Bayswater ( and plenty of absolutely cheap ones in King's Cross- but I would not recommend those. Better staying one day less but in a safer ,cleaner place ). But all the rest is very expensive in London,so go easy with those attraction tickets purchases. Anyway, London is such a romantic place even without doing anything special...

happy Birthday !

Yeah if you have enough money to do that, even without the hotel costs, London's tourist attractions' prices are extortionate.

lacrymosa_652 agony auntI think it sounds like a great idea :) it seems original too. Make sure it's on a day where he doesn't already have plans with family or friends first, though.

it sounds like a lovely idea and it shows that you have listened to the things that he likes.

it seems to me that you have good instinct so listen to that and go with the flow then you will most definitely get it right.

good luck and have a really good time.
