I'm just wondering how long is too long without sex? I know people have different sex drives but just wanting to get some personal opinions really. how long would you go without sex before you got unhappy with your partner and wanted explanations?

Personally speaking I think a forthnight would be long enough before I would start wondering as there are times when she is not in the mood as she is stressed or it is time of the month and i dont mind.

If you have a partner you should be having sex daily. Multiple times daily. I'm sure as you get older that gets harder to maintain but if you are both able physically to have sex and are in a committed relationship even on a busy schedule you should be able to do three times per week. Everyone loves a quicky right? So two days is too long to go without sex.

honeyross agony auntI'd agree with you - two weeks is quite long for a couple not to be having sex. I think once or twice a week is the norm.

It's a very difficult issue to raise with a partner but it has to be done. It's very problematic for a relationship if the needs of either of the individuals aren't being met and discussion has to take place in a way that doesn't imply blame.

The reasons why she doesn't enjoy it (any more) might be looked at from a medical point of view (her health might not be great) and then, if necessary, from the perspective of a sex therapist.

duskyrowe agony auntSadly my partner is not a 9-5 man, so we see each other on average of once a week as he works different shifts each week.

This makes our sexual desire for each other stronger,as we miss having regular contact with each other. I think that having sex too often can get too stale, it is more intense if there is not too much familiarity. Two or three times a week seems about average.

Mummy to be agony auntHi. I would say 2 weeks is a long time without sex but you have to bear in mind that womens sex drive is far less than mens. I have to say if the shoe was on the other foot, your girlfriend would probably be freaking out right now and would be arguing with you about the fact you haven't been near her for 2 weeks. I would fall out with my ex if we didn't have sex for 2 days, let alone 2 weeks as i thought he was getting it elsewhere. However, if work had been stressful or particularly tiring one week i would not even consider having sex. I wouldn't let it bother you too much, she is probably just going through a phase. Talk to her about how your feeling or maybe try and be romantic and cook her a meal one night, followed by candles in the lounge with soft music, that always gets us girls mushy and in the mood. Good luck : )
