It depends on a lot of things really. No two people are the same. It could depend on the type of relationship, or how long you were together, or if she's got her sights set on another guy. Lots of things effect it.

Deema agony auntHow long is a piece of string? Depends if she was dumped or the dumper too. Hurts far more if you're dumped and you still love them, so takes longer, but if you're the dumper you're ususally glad you're out of it, so not so long. If you like her give her time till she's ready. You'llknow when that is.

Danielepew agony auntI don't think every woman needs the same time to get over someone. That depends on the relationship, how close they were, how long they were together, how bad the breakup was, and a thousand et ceteras. So your question can't be answered as it is. Getting over someone takes as long as it takes.

If I take her reason to dump you at face value, you seem to have been her rebound relationship. That is, she thought it was time to start dating again, but finds she can't love you because she still thinks of the other guy.

However, it might also be that she didn't like you. Maybe she is over that guy, tested the waters with you, didn't like you, and gave you this "softened" line.

In any case, don't try your luck with her again. Just move on.
