writes: If I had sex a week before my period started and hypothetically got pregnant, would I still have my period the nest week?I'm not sure that I'm actually pregnant I just wondered how long it normally takes after you have sex for your period to stop if you do get pregnant.

you need to wait and see if your period comes when it is next due if it doesnt come then take a test it takes about 4 weeks from the date of your last period to show up with the right result

Your monthly period happens when your uterus sheds its lining. This lining is there to prepare for a pregnancy. If you become pregnant then your period should not come at all or it can be very very light spotting in rare cases. When the egg is fertilized, it implants in the lining of the uterus which nourishes the fertilized egg. If you have a period then there is nothing to nourish the developing foetus.
So if you have a period then you are probably not pregnant.
