writes: Ok guys...I'm right now going through a breakup. It's my first real relationship, and it's been a very genuine and passionate one, but now it's over. Please, no sympathy for me. What I would like to do, though, is get your excellent advice for me and every other reader of this site. Breakups are something that all of us have to go through at some time, and most of you will have some very wise insight into how best to deal with it. So I would like anyone with good advice on how to move on and get happy to chip it in for everyone's benefit. Hopefully it will help me and the other poor little troopers in my boat.

I'm just going to exercise more, that normally puts me in a good mood, and spend more time with my mates...isn't it amazing what a packet of cards, a pub, and a lively conversation can do for you!!!

Sadly there is no quick fix and if you are the sort of guy that really falls for a girl then it will take along time. Just dont make the mistake as I did of blowing the next relationship.
The sooner you accept that its over the sooner you get over it.

The very first thing is to realize that this will take time and that it's different for each person When I was first dumped, it took me 6 months to get over my girlfriend, a friend of mine took a year, another friend took 2 weeks. You've got to give yourself time to heal. You also have to keep busy, like go out with friends, focus on a hobby or maybe start another hobby where other women are. You don't have to start dating again yet, but it's good just to be around other women so you know they're out there and won't all hurt you. Give yourself time and keep busy.
