All day I found myself thinking of him. Everything reminds me of him or some moment we had together. Songs on the radio. Etc. I was sad all day until he just called me and before I know it, we were on the phone for 45
minutes. :). And he was sweet and said he
missed me and now I am floating on cloud nine.
I hate being this way though. So vulnerable that someone else can affect my mood.

InFATuation. Sorry, that gets me every time.
If you continue to keep up the contact while he is away, and still hold your feelings for him, that shows signs of love. If you miss him and always think about him, it could be love.
To be honest, love is up to the person who feels it. There is no real definition, as there are different types of love and different levels. If you in your heart feel love, then it's love. It may not be love to someone else, but it is to you.

If you still feel as strongly for him when you see him him in 4 months, then you're in love. If you soon start to feel distant of differently, then it's an infatuation. Often, something like a partner working away for a while can be a good indicator of how you feel.
If, in 4 months, you're still texting like mad, talking like mad and thinking of him, then you're in love with him.
