I came out as lesbian last year (it wasn't easy, I made it more difficult for myself than it should have been). In year 7, we were friends, but not close friends. We drifted apart, I suppose. But recently I've noticed that she stares at me a lot. Like, a lot. As in, when we all sit down for registration, I can glance briefly in her direction and she'll be looking at me. Our eyes meet across the classroom almost every lesson. Also, when we're heading to Science, she likes to hit me on the head with her science folder. I realise this isn't a sign of attraction, but I always thought it was cute... until I began suspecting her ulterior motives. That sounds really, really stupid.Moving on.She and I share a mutual friend called Rachel. So, I asked Rachel to ask her if she was gay/liked girls at all. Rachel said she would try, but chickened out. I got angry- in hindsight, I shouldn't have- and now I have to ask her myself. I sit next to her in German, so I can do it then- but first, I need some advice. How can I see if she likes me at all? I don't want to embarrass myself or her by asking her if she's gay, when all along she was just being friendly. What should I do?

hey there, u cud try n just ask her casually if shes ever had gay thoughts and take it from there, just see what reaction you get. Im a yr 9 n im kind of like a bi, but im not so sure about it and no-one know's but i kinda know what your going through, becuse i like someone but dont know how to tell her. Just ask her calmly if shes ever considered being gay or anything and you should get your answer :)

Or if you want others to know then tell her that you are gay and wondered if she was as well. But make friends with her first and ask the other questions later.
take care

Have you considered asking her "You know I'm gay, right?" and then seeing what kind of reaction you get?
