Basically we were both out one night (with seperate groups of friends) and I grew increasingly resentful throughout the course of the evening that he was not paying enough attention to me (which of course he couldn't as I guess I was like his mistress). I ended up getting so cross that I pulled him to one side and confronted him with this. I had always been very chilled in the past and I think this came as a complete shock to him. He told me I knew he was with someone and I haven't heard from him since...what do i do??

How on earth did you possibly think that he was going to pay any attention to you when you KNEW he was in a relationship?! You're not in high school anymore. You are supposedly an older mature woman who should have used her years on this earth to obtain knowledge and wisdom.
Bottom line of the situation is this: You didn't have enough respect of the his relationship not to get involved with this obviously unavailable man. You most certainly didn't have enough respect for yourself to know that you deserve better. You should always want to be numero uno, not sloppy second. Question is, what in the hell made you think he would have enough respect to acknowledge you? Since you decided to be his booty on the side and all.
Stop being stupid and allowing yourself to be put into these situations and wonder why it turned out the way it did. Grow up, get a grip, and get a clue. Find a SINGLE man and enjoy your life.

There's nothing you can do except try to move on as quickly as possible. He's no good for you and he's no good for his girlfriend. By insinuating himself in your life whilst he was involved with someone else he's shown you how little respect he has for either of you. You called him on his actions and players don't like that because it's threatens their self-delusion. Find yourself someone who has a clue about morals and respect for other people. :)

When you get involved with someone who is in a relationship with someone else, you are more or less commiting yourself to heartache and pain. Now he isn't giving you any attention you are feeling the full effect of entering into something that was never meant to be. He's also in the wrong for two-timing, your in the wrong for starting something with him and the only victim here is his girlfriend...who probably has no clue what the hell is going on.
Get over him, Get over yourself and get on with your life!!

You get over lost relationships when you look at them realistically and accept that they cannot be. That's all there is to it.
