Could you hear sarcasm in his voice when he said it? If so, he was probably just mean. Just pay attention to how he acts when he's around you. Does he pay a lot of attention to you? By making silly jokes about you or someting. Or does he seem nervous at all when he's around you? If so, that could mean that he likes you. Watch if he is particularly giggly or fidgetty when he is around you, those are usually telltale signs ;) Also you might catch him secretly looking at you and looking away quickly when you see him. I wouldn't take the word love to seriously though.

O Connor agony aunthe's 13 and a boy-love is a word he probably doesnt even know yet. i wouldnt really dwell on it, no offence but he is too young to be in love and if ppl say it was a dare, well..... now thats not to say that he mightnt like you, but love is an unlikely reality - i dont mean to sound harsh at all i just dont want you to get led into something that probably isnt true. but lets face it, if he didnt like you he probably wouldnt have said it dare or no dare, either that or the person who came up with the dare!!

birdynumnums agony auntI don't think that he would say it even as a dare if he didn't like you at all. So, it probably means that he doesn't hate you and probably likes you a bit. Well, at least, that's what I think.

Having once been 13 myself (and not to be cruel), but I am guessing that it might have been a dare. Please have the wisdom to know that this is not a bad reflection on you - he just has to grow up a little bit more. If it is meant to be, it really will be. When you are older and find true, mature love, you sure will know it!! Hang in there! It will be worth it!

kenny agony auntDid he tell you he was dared to say it?. The likellhood is you are never going to know for sure, unless you get him on his own and ask him outright if he meant it or it was a dare. Personally i think that 13 is abit to young to know what love really is, if anything he fancies you.

All the best x

Your a kid..He's a kid..Thats's what kids do. He probably just said it for fun. Don't take the word "love" so seriously. It's just a word.

A female reader, mayfair United Kingdom +, writes (29 January 2008):

I remember when I was a school and it is really hard when you like someone and then people take advantage of that. You know this boy better than i do so you should know wether he meant it or not. I would ask him if he said it for a dare, if he did then is he really worth knowing.
