 Well you could wait to see if things will get better but chances are those girls will still be around. I think that if the girl wants to date you then you should go for it. If you make her happy then I'm sure her friends will come around to accepting you.
Just make sure that she makes time for you and her friends and they should put up with it till they can see that you two are good for each other.

 I have bin in that situation where guys have tried to ask me to be together but my friends have interfered.
It is pretty normal.
But maybe ask her when she isn't with her friends.
&& If you have her number maybe call her.
If she asks why are asking me on the phone.
Just be like, " Well your friends are always with you and they will interfere with me asking you and i want to ask you in person but you are always with your friends. "
But only call her if she is never alone.
