Ever since then he is really nice to me, laughs at everything I say - and sometimes its not even funny - there are these stares that can be awkward, I will catch him looking at me and I can't help but quickly look away. Have I made it obvious and is there a possibility he might like me back. P.s - My friend said that he seemed fine about me thinking he was cute but never said anything else - could it be that he doesn't want to admit he likes me. (He is shy) thanks.

Heya
normally guys stare when they see something they like. Maybe since you are older and since it was your friend that told him you thought he was cute and not you, then maybe he isnt sure whether to approach you about it to see if its true.
Maybe when he stares at you, look at him, hold his gaze for a few seconds, smile and then look away. If he keeps staring after that, Im pretty sure he likes you.
If he is shy, maybe you should talk to him first and see where it leads. I mean, you never know?
Good Luck!

Well first, do you like him at all? Or just think he's cute?
Sorry if you mentioned that and i missed it.
If you're not interested, you should tell him and make sure that he understands.
If you are, then you should be happy that he likes you back.
But either way, you need to find out if he really likes you or is just being friendly.
Good luck! x

Without knowing the guy I can't give a definite answer but from what you describe it sounds to me like he is interested- the signs are all there.
Chances are that if he is shy then the reason he’s not made the first move is because he’s most likely is afraid of being rejected.
