I was speaking to Jonny* onnline today and I randomly blurted out.'which way do you like me?'and he said'I dont.'and signed offline, I'm hurt and confused and need to know the truth.

 It sounds like he was hurt when you told him that you were just friends with him. He probably had a crush on you.
You could try talking to him and explain how you feel about him. It might patch things up between you but it might not.
