This could turn out to be something beautiful! Being friends for three years means that you both like each other and get along well together. That's a really good place to start. In a case like this I would advise you to wait for a moment when ye are alone and start by saying that you want to tell him something but you are scared. In close friendships honesty is not always easy but it usually works out for the best. I remember when I was 15 and I was mad about a guy who was my friend for ages. I plucked up the courage to tell him how I felt and we talked for ages, he said he only liked me as a friend, it didn't change the way I felt about him but I accepted what he said. We are still the closest friends and that's years later. Remember true love comes in many forms.

If Chris has known you for three years, he alredy knows how you feels about him. But, go ahead and tell him. You didn't say how old Chris is. I hope he is your age or older. However, I also hope Chris is not too much older than you. You won't have much in the way of common interests if he is in his 20's, or older, and friendships can go only so far on crushes, alone.

write a poem!
Give me an application, For a position in your heart;
You don’t have to pay me, Just tell me when to start;
Looking for choice employment, I’m at your service, when you call;, When it comes to pleasing I’m always on the ball.
So hire me! Take me off the street; Won’t you hire me?
Give yourself a treat, Don’t make me wait; I’m a worker in my prime, Don’t you make me wait, I’ll put in over time.
Make me a tempting offer, For a position in your heart;
I don’t need a contract, Or a special place to park;
Giving you my ambition, Could be my one and only hope;
When you feel uneasy, I’ll make sure you can cope.
