Random question. Guys if you met a girl at a party but she left early and you didn't see her go. However, your friend told you she liked you and gave him her number to give to you. Would you take it and text her if you weren't interested, or attracted to her?

I mean would you still take her number and text her even if you just thought of her as a friend.... Or would you only take the number and text if you felt some interest or attraction in her?

Thanks guys for the input! What you've all said especially the last two comments sound true of what he is doing, which i wasn't aware of!? So i'm not going to bother with him, i've deleted his number cause there's no point keeping it if i'm a 'spare' (: haha

CindyCares agony aunt No, that's the "just in case " technique. Very common.

You are not particularly interested in the girl, and least of all in a serious relationship with her, but hey ya never know, everybody needs a spare, and you can't sort out that there will be a time, mood and circumstance when she might come handy. So, you throw her a text every now and then, just to keep her keen ,curious and available.

Yes, just forget him. He might just be keeping you around as a bit of a spare or something. This is probably the guy he is really. When a guy is that interested, he makes it known.

That's what i thought!!?

So why did this guy do that, he took the number and texted me. But then doesn't say much in the messages and he keeps going hot and cold so i can't tell if he is interested? Should i just forget it, i just couldn't understand why he would take my number and text me if he wasn't interested. Because if he wasn't, surely he would of just left it and not said anything to me right.....

The Realist agony auntI would take the number but there are two conditions under which I would text her. Those being either I was interested or just wanted to talk and be friends. Also the number may be taken but no messages ever sent which means he didn't want to hurt your feelings but he is not interested.

I'd only ever text a girl if I was interested. If I wasn't, I wouldn't text. There'd be no point in wasting time or stringing someone along. I think most good guys would do the same thing.
