Get someone to meet you.
Get a taxi.
Look up late buses.
Carry a personal alarm.
Stay at a friends who lives closer.
Or..as someone once said to me 'Talk to yourself, people will think you're crazy and leave you alone' Personally Id go with the alarm x

I dont advise you to carry a knife either i suggest you take your phone with you and some spare money to get a taxi home rather than get the bus.

Can you not afford a small cost Taxi fare to your house? Or possibly ask your parents to borrow money for the taxi?
If you can, can you share it with the people you are going with?
I went to a gig on saturday night and we hailed a taxi off the street and we thought it was going to be expensive and it turned out okay. If in doubt, pre book your taxi- they will ask for your name, and they should tell you the make and colour of the car so its totally safe.
With what the streets are like at the moment, I wouldnt personally walk home pretty late by myself, espically after a gig (you may have alcohol even though underage- the gig i went to was selling it young people =S) so you could possibly be a bit tipsy or drunk and thats not the best state to be in if you are on your own.
Do you have someone that could walk home with you? or possibly arrange if a girl friend is with you at the gig to ask her to stay at yours?
Could you get your parents/older brother to meet you nearish to the gig? (Like down the road or something)
If you only have the option to walk home then make sure you walk in well lit streets- Walk on the side of the road that has the most well lit street lights and dont walk to close to the road. Dont talk or approach anybody, if someone tries to talk/ approach you, cross the road and walk a bit faster. Let your parents know that you are going to the gig, and perhaps if you have a mobile ring them or ring them in a phone box to let them know youre leaving the gig to walk home so they know to expect you home soonish. Also tell whoever you can what route you will be walking home.
I know this sounds way too safe and protective but its not a nice world out there and im pretty sure weve all seen things like crimewatch on the streets on britian!!

Is there no way you can get a taxi at all, or share a lift?
I wouldn't advise you to carry a knife any day of the week. The best tool you can have, not including mace, is a mobile phone. In a city centre police response times are brilliant, so keep your phone charged and on.
Another thing you could invest in is a pocket alarm which are incredibly loud.
Stick to main roads that are well lit, too.
