You'd need to talk to him about it. That's the only way. But be prepared to lose him, since most male FWB are only interested in sex. If you're looking for more, then it may be better for you to move on and find a guy who can offer you more.

It might be worth thinking about whether a FWB really suits you emotionally, because it sounds like you want more out of life, a proper relationship not second best.
