Discuss your options with your G.P. The pill can certainly help with premenstrual syndrome including mood swings. Depression can also be a side effect of the pill, though but not all that commonly - usually in women with a history of depression.
There is one "Pill" on the market that is also reduces facial hair growth in women. It is no longer used as a contraceptive (although effective as one) because the hormones used in it are stronger and the side-effects more pronounced (which is why it's effective for excessive hair growth) It's called "co-cyprindiol" Just like the ordinary contraceptive pill, the main risk from this medication is thrombo-embolic problems (blood clots and strokes)so this treatment will not be a suitable option for you if you currently smoke. I have never known anyone take this medication so I can't tell you how effective people have found it.
If you also have experienced weight gain and infrequent periods, you may also have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which can also cause facial hair growth. Your G.P. can run some blood tests if he/she thinks this is the case. There is a medication available to treat this called "metformin" which is also used to treat diabetics. I have a friend that took this for PCOS but didn't find it made an awful lot of difference.
Do go to your G.P. though to discuss this. Don't attempt to self medicate as both of these medications can interact severely with other medications and you will need to be monitored whilst taking them.
Hope this helps.

I think the moderator got the title of this question a little wrong here!
To answer your actual question - yes going on the pill can stop hair growth and lessen the effects of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome). I suggest you go to your GP and ask them what they would suggest for you and both of your issues.
I have always suffered from slightly more dark, unsightly hair than I would like generally on my face, arms and hands. I also have bad periods where the period pain is quite bad and I would be very moody prior to starting my period. I am currently on a contraceptive pill called "Yasmin" and I have found it helps with both the hair issue and the periods issue.
However everyone is different and the pill that I have found to suit me may not be the right one for you - the best thing to do is see your doctor who will be able to advise you on what is best for you. If the doctor does put you on the pill and you are not happy with it when you have been on that particular one for at least 3 months, then you can go back to the doctors and tell them you dont feel it is working, and they will try another one. There are many types of pill that all have similar properties however they work in slightly different ways - it is just a question of finding the right one for you and this might take a few attempts!
I hope this helps and good luck!

I don't think this is the best place to ask-you need to go see you doctor because they will be able to help you out. Just before a period many woman feel low, its just PMS but again, your doctor will be only too happy to help-its their job.

The pill would actually cause you to become moody, grow facial hair, feel bloated all the time, as well as other symptoms. So my guess is that, by going ON the pill, your symptoms will increase. I am no doctor, so you should discuss it with your physician about your options.
Though I am a little confused by your post- are you or are you not on the pill? Because if your on it, the pill is most likely causing the symptoms you have right now.
Other thing I can only think of is that you have some sort of defenciency and are entering menopause. o.O Which is a same due to your age...

Yes, it is most likely the pill but apparently can also be caused by depression itself, I just googled it...you should probably talk to your doctor or a pharmasict if it gets really bad. Take care
