Mechanics of male orgasm/ejaculation. What is going on for you?

Some possibly weird questions for the guys here that a couple of recent incidents have had me wondering about ...

I have asked my own man all this stuff by the way, but he is one man, I am curious aboout consistencies and contrasts experienced across the board.

So firstly ... how long is it from when you guys hit the point of no return to actually ejaculating?

Can you get to the no turning back stage and still have vast variables in the time frame, ..and if so, what sort of variables are we talking, and are you consciously aware of anthing that can cause time variables when already at that point of inevitability?

Obviously you feel something going on internally to let you know it is about to happen, but what is the sensation like for you and where is it located? Gotta say my man's answer surprised me and was not at all what I expected it to be but not sure if that is a 'him' thing or fairly standard - hence the questions.

And finally, when you do get all the way there, is that a diff sensation to you and in diff locations?

Thanks to anyone not too shy to answer and give me some comparisons :-)

A reader, anonymous, writes (22 April 2010):

Hi,

For years I didn’t think much about what was happening with my orgasm, I just enjoyed it.

It was only when I read up on the mechanics of what was happening that I was able to match up the different sensations I was feeling, and related them to what was happening in my body.

I consider the actual orgasm is really three parts. You need to realise a couple of points of the ‘mechanics’ of a guys ‘piping’ (Urethral) to appreciate what is happening.

Immediately by the bladder there is a sphincter (like a valve) which shuts off urine. This is locked close when a guy has a good solid erection, and orgasm is approaching. (don’t want to mix urine and semen!).

From the bladder the urethral passes through the prostrate, which controls all the mixing of sperm and other fluids, and then there is a second sphincter in the urethral, still in the ‘base’ of the penis, but the other side of the prostrate.

That’s probably enough to explain both the mechanics and the feelings of a guys orgasm.

Prior to the so called ‘point of no return’ the internal sphincter by the bladder is already closed – and the exterior sphincter beyond the prostrate also closes – so you have a short length of the urethral ‘pipe’ isolated, in the area of the prostrate.

The sperm and other various ‘juices’ are released into this isolated length of the urethral, causing it to ‘balloon’ up, in order to hold the liquid.

It is this that is actually the ‘point of no return’, although no liquid has yet been released, as it is still held by the sphincters, so it is still cut off.

This is orgasm part one, and the first great feelings of the orgasm, an increasing build-up of sensations, situated behind the balls (not in them!) – the sensation is mainly in the area which is starting to balloon up, around the location of the prostrate.

This sensation will last maybe three or four seconds. If you think about it, the release of the semen is now bound to happen at some point, because the liquid is actually in the urethral – the piping from the bladder, but is held back by the sphincters both sides of the prostrate.

This then moves smoothly into orgasm part two. The sphincter to the bladder remains firmly closed, but the exterior sphincter is released. The urethral had ballooned out to hold the liquid, but with the opening of this valve the semen can now start to move along the urethral, and start flowing up the length of the penis.

At this point it is only being propelled by the pressure from the ‘ballooned’ part of the urethra, but is still moves quite fast. The feeling at this point I consider the most exquisite of the entire orgasm. The sensation from the prostrate area now spreads rapidly along the length of the penis – a superb warm feeling, that intensifies as the semen approaches the glans (head) of the penis.

This part two of the proceedings is a very short space of time, perhaps only occupying a second or two.

As the semen reaches the area of the glans of the penis, and would be just about to start to trickle out of the penis, this is the point where orgasm part three, the ejaculation, kicks in with the series of muscle contractions. With me the point of the first contraction seems to be as the semen actually reaches the start of the glans, the end of the penis. At this point the entire urethra would contain the liquid. I suppose that this is why the first actual ‘spurt’ is the biggest.

So orgasm part three, the contractions, flows smoothly on from part two. The second stage had built up to an almost uncontrollable height, so much so that the contractions act almost as a great relief. They are great in themselves, and they ‘let you down gently’ as the feelings start subsiding with each successive contraction.

So how long is it from the point of no return to ejaculating?

Bit difficult to say, because the actual point of no return can be felt building up, and so you can get close to it, and hold back.

However, once the juices are being released into the urethra, (stage one of orgasm), the semen is going to be released whatever happens. Even if you managed to avoid the muscle contractions – the semen is in the urethra, and is going to flow out.

I would suggest that there normally would be three of four seconds from ‘inevitable’ to where the semen actual appears, but it may vary.

As speculation, I suppose it could be somewhat longer if maybe if stage one took place, but the sphincter did not open. Then the semen would be still in the urethra, but it would be held there by the closed valve. Even then it will eventually come out; it has nowhere else to go! However, that is something I have never experienced.

That is my experience of orgasm – how does it compare to a girls orgasm? Hope my write-up helps.

A male reader, bharat mehta India +, writes (26 January 2010):

bharat mehta agony auntMany many thanks to 'Not my name', for noting my remarks. Yes, I have decided to publish articles, in long long series, which will give ideas about Tantra. Just today, I have published one also.

From ancient time to this day, tantra was and is practiced amongst ascetic minded people. Such people form their separate community or commune type setting. But my observation say such commune had not work. It never worked even in ancient time. Not in India, but even in Greek also. Such community has nothing to contribute to society. Knowledge remain as blocked.

I have think, that such knowledge of tantra should meant for social people, who live family life. But due to puritanism, brought by asceticism has blocked this knowledge, for social people like me, like you and like many others, who suffer simply for lack of knowledge. But, now we are some what free minded people. we live in the age of science. we can respect logic, we can respect reasoning mind, we can respect happy life also. So, our age, and specifically this " Dear-Cupid.ORG " is proper place for tantra. Here questioners are intelligent, ask rational question, and inspire me to say what is required.

Once again thanks for good inspiration. I will be busy for couple of work, in preparation of articles, and will not be able to attend individual question.

DoubleM agony auntWell I'm still not quite sure what you're wanting to know. In my personal experience there has never been an instance where I've reached the "point of inevitability" without a resulting completion, but I suppose it could happen to some men.

Associating male ejaculation to religion is somewhat a stretch for me, but there certainly can be a cosmic aspect about it. If you can fully understand "Bharat's" responses I commend you. He means well and certainly, the Tantric teachings from Kama Sutra are amazing revelations on the spiritual aspects of sexual pleasure. I'm no expert there but began studying, to a degree, about 40 years ago.

I'll simply reiterate that for me, the "point of no return" begins in the scrotum as a result of proper stimulation to the head and shaft of the penis, whether orally or vaginally, and the orgasm is primarily felt at the tip as sperm is released. It does, however, have affects throughout the whole body.

Not My Name agony auntOk, done reading. Thanks again Bahrat - my question was coming from a purely analytical approach in this instance, but can totally appreciate your spiritual reflections (in many of your postings) being a Spiritualist myself with an affinity for Buddhism and Hinduism. Prob sounds odd to some that I can gel this with my scientific side, ...but really what is science but the study of things that are spiritual in there most basic creative essence.

That said, I was thinking about your planned upcoming Tantra articles earlier today and thinking I would sound my man out about exploring this together. Sounds beautiful from what little I know, so I look fwd to reading what you come up with :-)

Not My Name agony auntI do have an account Rainoffire - It me - Not My Name - I didn't plan to tick the Anon box, and am sure I actually didn't, so not sure why I am a secret squirrel ..lol. But tis me anyway. And yes, ... this shit actually does goes through my head - well it did recently anyway. (I did say it might be weird lol) As for my questions, - not shy - was just economizing on words with the orig post (not now tho lol) - and prob coz what piqued my curiosity here took some explaining if i went there ( I shall save that bit for Dbl M tho :-) So to answer you, ... in contrast to the other responses so far ( ... the one's given here are actually what I expected him to say) .... he feels he is about to blow as a tingle rising and exploding in his lower abdomen/upper pubic region - not his balls. When he actually does, it goes from there, up through his stomach, through his knob, nuts (as an after thought not origin point), and down his thighs. I guess I was just surpised at where it originated for him and it got my head ticking ..lol

Thanks Satin - sensible as usual! And yes, every guy is diff, which is why I asked the questions - to get other perspectives, and why none of the answers are the same as my man's. :-)

@ the anon male - rofl - if your woman starts asking you questions, you should actually pay her not the other way around lol. What would you a rather a woman who knows exactly what does it for you and how it makes you feel, ...or a woman guessing what you like and hoping it works out. Who knows, your next partner might be reading this - so it is in your own best interests to spill free of charge hehehehehe :-)

Thanks Dbl M - I had a feeling you might answer :-) Yes, you're right, anyone who has read my profile will have already seen that I mentioned having a scientiic approach to things (tho I was referring to religion in that instance) - but it's my nature, so crosses in to other things at times. I like to know the in's and out of how things work - people, photosynthesis, combustion engines, ejaculation, whatever, anything and everything - love info! That said, I do leave the lab coat outside the bedroom door - hell, I usually cant even think straight let alone get analytical in the middle of it lol. I just ponder weird shit at other times :-)

As for why I got all curious on this front (*packs up last semblances of modesty*) ...the other day, I was giving my man a BJ, and something happened that I had never noticed before, ... but in the click of ya fingers, I could suddenly smell semen very strongly, was surpised by it, but assumed it had started being released internally and was on it's way out. My bf announced right that second that he was about to blow, eyes rolled back in his head and all the usual cues, ... 2 + 2 = 4 - done deal right? Nope wrong! Normally, it would be a few seconds later that he did, ..but in this instance, 20 secs later and still a no show. I sensed not only that it was no longer imminent, but that he had completely lost the moment/urge, ...and the smell dissapeared too. Not to worry tho, within a a min he was back there and beyond.

What got me intrigued tho, is the assumption, that not only was our timing spot on with both thinking he was about to come, but that if i could actually smell it suddenly, it would seem that it must have been released in to the plumbing for me to have done so. (???) Hence my questions on others experiences of time frames b/n the initial sensation and ejaculation actually occuring. The man confirmed later that he felt for all intents and purposes like he was in the process, but that it suddenly stopped. I have to assume too that he knows when he is or not coz he has never been out on it before. (Always a first I suppose tho) Anyway, I have just kinda been scratching my head curiously wondering what went on, ...if it just kinda lingered somewhere, changed it's mind lol, ... - and that is the reason for my interest.

My scientific side just likes answers- so keep em coming. Wanna know if my man is a mutant or not - only joking - he can get off any way that does it for him, who cares, ... as said, am simply just curious for other perspectives.

P.S thank you Bharat - your answer popped up whilst i was writing this one, so will read it in a min.

A male reader, bharat mehta India +, writes (24 January 2010):

bharat mehta agony auntThe question so conceived here by female is of greatest importance, from the sand point of human mind seeing sex pleasure as something enlightening life itself.

The heart of the question pointed in this statement, if I am not wrong in judging the point:....'Obviously you feel something going on internally to let you know it is about to happen, but what is the sensation like for you and where is it located?"

To show exactly ".WHAT IS THE SENSATION LIKE FOR US AND WHERE IS LOCATED?' I have to say something about sex-organ, as pretext.

Sex organ, penis for male and clitoris for female- is true local of sex pleasure. So, sex pleasure is one for both mind, male and female mind but function of sex organ is not same one. It is different. Just female sex organ has no mechanism for ejaculation. Which also means female can very ease with sex pleasure, feel it for longer longer to longest time, if so decided. And, female can responded to erotic touch of male quite intensely.

Male sex organ has similar mechanism with female, as long as erotic pleasure is concerned, of course before the ejaculation has completion. Male is also quite able to respond female's erotic touch easily. But, when matter came to intercourse then everything is changed related to erotic pleasure.

When male sex organ got entry in to vagina, then first thing happen is this: Male's sex organ begin to loss its hardness little bit. And, reason is clear as inside vagina there are no nerves ending, so there is no sensation of touch save, some sensation like soft, wet, warmth etc but they are not erotic, or cause and sustain erection. So, to sustain that erotic pleasure, male begin to start pumping like motion to bring up some 'semen' which give lighting like sex pleasure, even female can sense the intensity of increased pleasure. Of course, male do not do all this with calculations, but it is happen this way, control and directed by desire of pleasure. And, in this way mind begin to ask more and more pleasure, means more and more pumping like motion. In such motion, the trigger located at glans penis is hit, and with this hitting, pleasure so experience as spark, became as flood of light, which is exactly the point of no return, and the thing called 'ejaculation' became must, and with this ejaculation, all flood light also declared off-pleasure, and body became dump to receive any erotic touch. But, the passing of semen through vessel give indescribably pleasure, it can be said in symbolic language as 'flood of light' in comparison to spark light.

A male reader, DoubleM United States +, writes (24 January 2010):

DoubleM agony auntYou seem to be very scientific about this. As a female, you seem extremely interested in male ejaculation. Well ok, this can largely depend on the man and other factors. Basically, just prior to release, there is a strong feeling in the balls that the fullness needs to be gone. Of course, it is inspired by sexual attraction, and hopefully, love. He becomes very sexually excited. Whether by intercourse or orally, it is the desire to eventually let go! The sensation rises and release becomes inevitable, as you say. The release can be mind-blowing. Hard to describe. It's a tremendous release of tension, and should be with love and caring for the woman. An equal amount of satisfaction should always be imparted to the woman, either simultaneously or preferably before.

Oooooo,,, a Survey !! Do we get paid for our answers????

First,,

It is a very short time between the point of no return and orgasm. How long?? who knows I never thought to use a stop watch. :-))

Second,,,

"the point of no return" IS the point of no return! The time line is the same. Otherwise it is NOT the point of "NO RETURN" and can be controlled. (just poking fun with the female prior to "point of no return")

Third....

A good orgasm is like having your physical/mental/emotional entire being.. passing out thru the penis, into the woman.

Every physical/mental sensation, and every endorphin leaps into Overdrive... The endorphins are flowing so strongly a guy could probably be shot or stabbed right at orgasm and would not even feel it !!

Please enclose $5.00 American for my answers..

(think we're supposed to divilge our secrets for FREE?? LOL..LOL..!!)
