that was my first kiss with my now husband.
"are you trying to french kiss me?"
OMG I almost died of mortification... just got in my car and left...
relax.. he still married me.

That does sound embarrassing but he could probably tell it was just a mistake and maybe he wished he did go for a tongue kiss! I'm sure it will be fine and if he doesn't want a second date then I doubt that is the reason.

Laugh it off! That's what you should do in these situations. Just say, "oh boy are we going to talk about this one for a while!"
Dont worry, its a cute and harmless thing...hope you enjoyed the date though :)

What are you worried about? It was a harmless misunderstanding.

HE behaved like a gentleman. IT was a misunderstanding and he’ll probably think nothing more of it and neither should you. If you are both keen on each other, don’t let this get in the way of enjoying the next date.
I wish you all the very best.

All I can think of is to back down a little, Maybe make a joke about it next time you are saying goodbye, "Goodnight kiss? I promise I won't slip you the tongue this time."
It's awkward in the early stages of a relationship, especially since you are both just getting to know each other. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it :-D

Eh, stop worrying about it. It's not like you are a mind reader, right?
It could have been worse :) At least it shows you wanted to KISS him back.
Chill, honey.
