I by no means like the real stuff, I find the idea repulsive but it's different when it comes to this. What I'm wondering is if lolicon has the potential to turn one into a pedophile. To me, that just sounds like a Jack Thompson argument about violent video games turning some innocent kid into a murderer, but I'm not completely sure.Please only answer if you have a reasonable amount of experience in watching/playing lolicon.Please NO MORALS!!! I don't want any opinions whether it's right or wrong, just facts and experience.

I have Lolicon fantasies too. Its usually girls with the same age fingering, masturbating, and doing other sexual activities which dont need males. On the other hand, it is sometimes boys having sex with girls, still with the same age. i do feel no shame, but I dont really look at it as pedophilia, I mean, I dont imagine grown men having sexual relationships with girls. So, in a way,I see it as children wanting to have sexual relationships, which would actually be normal to do by those conditions, just in later years. There is another hinch about Lolicon, I like flat chests more than big, round breasts. So, would this cause pedophilia, and I am asking this because the Australian banned flat chests, and smaller types of boobs in Lolicon and Hentai,altrough not sure for Anime and Manga purposes.

This is kinda true of a lot of things...including lolicon.
There is no evidence to suggest that looking at lolicon encourages pedophilia. There are people in prison saying "I got turned on looking at lolicon so I decided to do it." But that is NOT proof that lolicon "made" them do it; just that it tapped into something that was already there, in their mind.
However, there is some suggestion that with the availability of lolicon, it could be encouraging some people to believe that it's more acceptable these days, especially those who are isolated or fantasists to begin with. If you are social, if you are rooted in the real world, and if you know that touching up kids is ALWAYS naughty (even if just because it breaks the laws of the country you live in) then you don't have a problem.
Also consider your standings on genuine child porn, i.e. photo's of children being abused. I have looked at lolicon and had some pretty severe fantasies, but I have also been shown child abuse pics and they have turned my stomach. The thought that any child should actually go through that just so someone can get off on it...that just messes me up. That's what reminds me that I'm sane, and no a danger; I can't stand the thought of LOOKING at this stuff, let alone doing it.
Consider too the popularity of incest and rape fantasies. Read Nancy Friday and others, who talk about the dark desires of the mind. Consider the other aspects of such fantasies, and what motivates them. It's a fascinating topic to delve into, and can often put your mind at ease. I have spoken with many men, for instance, who have fantasized about raping women and worried that this makes them rapists. As a woman who has fantasies of being a rape victim, I can honestly say there's nothing scary about the men who have such fantasies, as long as they don't apply it to reality. Even those who act out such fantasies with consenting partners are not doing anything wrong; if you play safe with someone who wants to play with you, you're not hurting anyone.
ALWAYS remember, no matter what, that messing with children is ILLEGAL. Not necessarily wrong, but ILLEGAL. This is because your moral standing may change with time, but the laws do not unless the morality of your home country does. Your opinion, and the opinion of your partners (regardless of their age and what they think, say, do and look like) are completely irrelevant when standing next to the laws of the country in which you live. ALWAYS remember that, and you will be fine.

To answer the question "does lolicon have the potential to turn one into a pedophile?" the answer is no, but it does have potential to become sexually stimulating to one directing their sex drive more toward underage girls then healthy matured women which at one point may encourag attempts to interact toward young girls with sexual intentions, if thats the case then one would be charged and prosecuted as a pedophile. It realy depends on the person. Participating in lolicon may or may not affect you, if you have to restrain urges toward underaged girls then you need help before its too late.

People do change over time, so perhaps someone could turn into a paraphile over time, but nothing is guaranteed to do that. Environment does affect thought and personal change over time I suppose, it`s based on how you process it.

 For everyone's info: lolicon usually refers to hentai (porn) anime that features young-looking or petite and small-breasted cartoon characters.
Personally, I am attracted to small-breasted women, and I love anime so I have seen the occasional lolicon anime. Now the thing is, lolicon has an unfortunate name that makes most people equate it with kiddie porn, but it's really not. After all, it's a cartoon. The bodies portrayed are so abstracted that they could be any age from about 13 to 39. There are plenty of small-breasted women over the age of 18 who would be portrayed in anime form as 'lolicon', especially these days where the standard of naked 'beauty' seems to include shaving 'down there'.
Look, lolicon is not going to make you into a pedophile. Your attraction to it probably means you are not turned on by the unrealistic massive breasts that are featured in most anime and a lot of regular porn.
Now a lot of folks are going to say "Eww! Looking at cartoon porn - that's sick!" but the reality is that with cartoon porn you can at least be sure that no one is being sexually exploited. The same can't be said with regular porn.
As far as I can see, there's nothing wrong with your particular fetish. Have fun!

By no means does it make you a pedophile, if you had been 40 and liked a five year old girl in sexual way, for example, you would. You said so yourself that the thought of it in real life makes you feel sick, well the same here. The lolicon games, manga and anime (3 *squeals* 3) are merely harmless interest to (most) people. I certainly doubt it's going to be many 16 years olds like us, ne? ^-^

reader, anonymous, writes (22 May 2008): I have no experience of lolicon, I'm not even sure what it is, but if it involves children (virtual or otherwise) and sexuality and you find yourself aroused by it, I would suggest you stop.
Who knows what creates a paedophile, (apart from what they do with real life children) but if this opens the door to an interest in children's sexuality, then I suggest you find some other form of entertainment just to be safe.

I don't know if it will turn you into a pedophile but if it's a concern I'd not play the game. The thing about sexual desire is that the more you concentrate on the object of desire the higher the desire becomes. That's how it's supposed to work because then when you desire someone you care for and think about them, you desire them that much more and they do the same in return and it's a great relationship. But if you find yourself being turned on by something that may cause a concern then it's probably something you'll want to eliminate. Feed the right desires that make you feel good about your sexuality, ignore the ones that don't.

 It's ILLEGAL in Canada, and there have been successful prosecutions resulting in prison sentences.
It's not currently illegal in the UK, but might be very soon (the recent Crimnal Justice Act doesn't cover it but does cover some other types of pornography/erotica).
In the USA it potentially carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years for merely viewing such material over the Internet, but a prosecution in 2006 for possessing such material was partially overturned and the current legal position is unclear.
Safer to stay away, whichever country you are in.
Those are facts, not judgements.

now thats out of the way.. well sex and murder are hopefully 2 very different things, while most of us will experience sex several times in our lives,the same can't be said for murder. Seeing and experiencing are 2 Very different things as well. Sex being natural where as murder isn't. at least not in todays sociaty.
Is it going to turn you in to a Pedophile? Probably not.
much the same as watching gay porn isn't going to make you gay.
However. watching people have sex whever gay, straight, clown or midget they're of consenting adult age.
Is Lolicon a gate way to Pedophile? well.. its possible, given the subject and nature of the pre-pubecent girls in erotic situations is at the extreme end of taboo at best.
