 I can't answer that for sure, but if she says she like someone else maybe she does.
Some girls are just overly flirtacious, and tease us guys to the point it's just cruel.
Sounds to me like she's just a flirty girl, but if you like her ask her out, if she says yes she likes you, if not she doesn't.
Worst case senario is you'll be in the same positiion you're in now, minus driving yourself nuts wondering if she likes you.

 the only solution i can see is that you tell her you like her.
once she knows this she may admit that she likes you aswell.
if she doesnt, then its obv she doesnt like you.
hopefully it wont damage your friendship if she knows that you like her.

 The only way to truly find out is to ask her whether she likes you, but don't get your hopes up.
Plenty of people flirt with various people, with no interest in "getting with" those people, I myself do it all the time.

reader, anonymous, writes (3 November 2007): simple solution- ask her! She wouldn't flirt with you if she didn't have feelings for you so what are you waiting for. You may be nervous or whatever but just do it. Then you know for sure and voila no problems.
