A male Nigeria age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I've got to be honest...I scored below average on an IQ test, and I have made a lot of bad decisions with my life. But the question is...Does having a low IQ affect people's ability to have sex? I mean, it would obviously cloud their judgement. Right?

I hope the question is clear. Do dumb people (like myself) make really bad lovers?

BassiveMalls agony auntFirst of all those IQ tests online are unreliable.

But there is a correlation between having an IQ under 70 or over 110 and virginity. Having an IQ over 110 personally I can back this study up.

I doubt your IQ is under 70 anyway so as long as your in that range you should be good.

DenimandLace44 agony auntNo it doesnt. However I don't think you are dumb. You articulated well, spelled correctly, and used punctuation! None of that text talk...some very bright people do not test well. Back to your question...I know some below average intelligence people who have happy marriages, and children. They seem happy. :)

Thanks for your answers. I appreciate your concern. And I guess I will have to be a bit kinder to myself. Maybe I'm not dumb.

I must learn to accept myself the way I am.

That's all I can really think of to say at this stage.

absolutely not!! i mean do u really need a high iq to know what feels good? as long as u and your partner can talk about sex, thats what makes it good! ive never had an iq test and have made a few bad decisions myself, my partner is just the same and we have an amazing sex life. don't sell yourself short either,a friend of mine cant read or write yet manages to run his own business. dont doubt your abilities in the bedroom, sex is adult playtime, just relax and enjoy yourself!

Cerberus_Raphael agony auntYou are not dumb. Have faith in yourself and know that ALL IQ tests are faulty. There is no accurate way of determining ones IQ so do not think yourself dumb just yet. Everyone makes bad choices at least once in their life, doing so does not make you dumb, it makes you wiser because now you can learn and now you can grow stronger.

No, IQ does not have anything to do with your ability to have sex. Sex is something instinctual. Being a lover is instinctual. You know the difference between right and wrong, you know how to show someone you love them. You could be a genius and still be a horrible lover and you could be mentally challenged and still be able to show heartwarming affection.

I hope that helps.
