I've taken two pregnancy tests and they both said negative. I've skipped whole months before but not since I've been having sex.I've spoken to my mum about it and she said to just wait. I'm going to the doctors this week to hopefully get put on the pill and I think they'll make me do ANOTHER test. I was just wondering, does anyone else have problems with their periods like me? Does anyone know what could be causing my period to be so late?Any ideas would be very helpful =]

-NothingLasts4ever- is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI haven't had any pains at all. I had a couple of pains a few days before I was due on a couple of weeks ago which I just thought were to signal my period was on it's way as the other stuff which usually happens when I come on had happened too. That's why I'm so confused when I didn't come on.
I'm not over weight or under weight and I haven't gained anything major over the last few weeks. I'm pretty much the same as I have been for the last few months.
As for the negative sleep paterns, it's the complete opposite. Recently, I've been sleeping alot more than I used to and it's been better sleep too.
Thanks for all the answers though, they make me feel better about the situation as other people experience it too or know people that do.

Weight gain or loss can cause late or skipped periods, as can negative changes in sleep patterns, stress, etc... There are also hormonal problems that can lead to this.

there could be many reasons and its obviously not pregnancy, it could (and probably is) something simple like stress - maybe too much school or college work? maybe even too much job work?
other things it could be is maybe being too underweight or over weight.
also do you have any irregular pains? maybe ask to be tested for polycystic ovaries?
that sorta thing. it could be anything, if its not stressed ask the doctor for various tests =]

-NothingLasts4ever- is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI haven't had unprotected sex, we use condoms. And as far as I know, none of them have broken or split. I didn't take the test too early, I took the first test a week after I was due on.
I'm not on any other kind of birth control at the moment but I'm hoping that going on the pill will sort it out and make them regular. I'm not underweight so I doubt it's anything to do with that. I don't do alot of exercise really so I also doubt it's too much exercise which has delayed it so much.

Are you underweight? Often if your BMI goes too low then your body will stop your periods, so that is one possiblity. There are a huge number of reasons why you are not having regular periods, your doctor is the best person to talk to about this as they can run some tests to figure things out.
When was the last time you had unprotected sex? There is a chance you are pregnant, but you have just taken the test too early. Let the doctor do another pregnancy test when you see them because by next week it might show up.
If you are going to the doctor next week then just wait until then, explain to them the problems you will have been having and they will take it from there. Once you are on the pill though everything should settle down.
I hope this helps and good luck!
