A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Lately I have been really emotional. I will get really mad or start crying over the most pathetic things. I realize what I'm crying over is silly, but I can't help it. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me?

I do not know what is wrong other than to say it is **probably** hormones. I would like to suggest that you find a way to get the anger/hurt/confusion out. Read a book, throw on some shoes and go run (this helps me a lot!!!), find somewhere you can work out, watch a good movie, and most especially...talk! Get your feelings out. I guarantee you will find a lot, if not most of the people your age are going thru the same thing.

Good luck to you!

I think given that you're a teenager, it's most likely all those hormones rushing around, You're growing up, and at a fast rate so your body is in overdrive. Therefore all your senses and feelings are heightened. Therefore, you are more prone to crying and emotional outbursts and such.

The good news is that this is nearly always a natural reaction. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with you as such. Most teenagers go through what you are going through.

But, it might help just to talk to your mum about it or something. Maybe a bit of reassurance from her will help.

Dont know for sure, but have you had your period yet? Are these mood swings followed by cramps, headaches? You could be getting ready to start your period. Or maybe even depression. If these mood swings persist, you should see your doctor, and he could prescribe you something based on what's wrong, or maybe suggest therapy. Good luck!
