Do things happens for a reason? Like if your marriage breaks down, its not all that bad, because the reason it broke down, that there is a better love can come to your life? So it's like meant to happen? Or if you lose an opportunity in your career, it's just for your own good, because it never meant to happen, it wouldn't be good for anyways? And there is something better awaits you? Or all this are just wishful thinking, with nothing behind it. What do you think?

Hi

Often things happen for reasons like...

A..marriages breaks down because the EFFORT is not put in to maintain and as for someone better on the horizon?? the grass is not always greener sometimes the grass is green when we water it!

But optimism is great and will keep us going so keep it up.

eddie agony auntI don't think things happen for a reason. For every action we take there are many potential outcomes. There are probabilities and possibilities. For example, if you go to college you might get a better job. This could be true. Yo might also meet a spouse and move across the world and so something totally different. You might skip college, work in a restaurant, make a great impression on the owner and eventually become the manager. You might start working at McDonald's at 15 years old and climb the corporate ladder.

Things happen because they do. None of us a immune to the CHANCE. We can plan all we want but their is never a guarantee things we work out. We can minimize risk and maximize our odds but things change.

Be positive, expect change and deal with things accordingly.

A female reader, straight to the truth United Kingdom +, writes (17 November 2008):

Well I always like to think that most things happen for a reason. I broke up with my fiancee about 4yrs ago and was devastated but i am now with someone i love with all my heart and he is the best thing that could of happened to me.

recently i lost my job because i was made redundent, fair enough i haven't found anything as good as my last job but i like to think that eventually something better will come from this bad situation because normally in these circumstance it works out for the best if you can just hold in there.

The things that break us are the things that make us stronger and more prepared in life. we learn from these things and they make us who we are.

Is there something happened in your life which has made yo ask this question
