Of course the younger you are, the less of a big deal it is about your age because you are generally always in a group of your peers. When you start working in the world, age can be used to discriminate people as either too young, or too old and it isn't fair to be labeled either one.

Yup of course they do, for all different reasons. if a girl is 16 and wanted to go clubbing she will lie and say shes 18 or if there is this real cute fella shes into but is a few years older, she will then lie that she too is a few years older so the guy dont think shes just a kid.
Although it can also b very dangerous ie. a man aged 50 can pose as a sweet innocent 13 year old boy online to pray on young girls.. or vice versa

Yes! Some people do it and some people don't. Like PeterPan said [lOl] it could be for any reason. Ok like scenario 1: 15 year old girl..18 year old guy. Ok now she may look 16 or 17 but in a conversation they could have been having he might mention something like, he wouldn't date anyone under 16 becuase that's too far going. So she may lie and say she's 16 or even 17 to make herself more attractive to him. She may be mature in body and mind or maybe even just have a mature way of thinking but the only thing that will stop her is her age. Same situation if the boy and the girl switched places
Scenario 2: So more people can look up to them, yea this seems kind of silly but hey people do it because I've witnessed people lying about their age in so many situations it's ridiculous.
Scenario 3:Ok I onced lied about my age when I was in summer camp so I can play Jerry Springer with the older kids lOl.
Scenario 4: 25 year old guy doesn't like older women but is attracted to a female he saw in the mall who looks about 19 or 21. In actuality her drivers liscense says that she is 35, that's climbing up to 40. If he approaches her she can look at him and tell his age from the "just seeing the world" look in his eyes and lie and say she's 25. "Oh you're 25 too what a coincidence" BULLSHIT.
People may also lie about their age so people can take them more seriously. Some people might say something wise but won't be taking seriously, but an old wizard looking man could probably stand up and say the same thing with a slight twist and suddenly it all makes sense.
I personally don't like the fact of people lying about their age it get you caught up and lost and its crazy when you find out that the guy or girl you fell in love with is actually a mature looking 16 year old and you're 21. But you've already fallen in love. It sucks but it happens

Not everyone, but yes people lie about their age... reasons? I'm sure you can think of why -- it would be nearly any reason you could imagine... want to appear older than they are... they want to appear younger than they really are... to get a job... to get into the military... to be more socially accepted in one group as opposed to another one...
