There's a great exchange about stretch marks in the movie "Shirley Valentine". After sleeping on a first date with a Greek sailor, He is rhapsodizing about how she should "Appreciate her stretch marks" ...because "They show that you are alive, That you have given life; Don't be ashamed of these marks. They are beautiful."
Then; the heroine turns to the camera and says...
"Aren't men full of S#!%!"...
So - consequently - I have to say - we women tend to kick ourselves over them and turn ourselves inside out over something that men wouldn't even care about, in the grand scheme of things. Men tend to ignore the small stuff.
There's a great line as well about who would you rather be naked in front of, a room full of men, or a room full of Women? A wise woman would say "Men".
Simply, because - they would just be GRATEFUL!

Like big boobs, small boobs, wide hips, skinny waists, long hair, brown eyes - a few guys will be turned off. A few will be turned on. And most will accept it as part of what makes you, YOU.

I'm with Lexilou on this one. I hate mine too, but no other guy has ever made me feel bad about them, guys tend to look beyond that sort of thing, as you can see by what the uncles have said. So try not to feel too self conscious of them.

I've got terrible stretch marks simply through growth sperts when i was young - i'm not overweight either. I was disgusted with them and terrified of anyone seeing them but my boyfriend never once mentioned them. If i said that i thought they were ugly he'd kiss me and tell me that he isn't at all bothered by them.
I think if any man is put off by them then they're obviously very superficial. The stretch marks will never disappear so i'm afraid (however hard it is) we just have to learn to love them.

I've never had any trouble with them at all. Most of the women I've dated seriously recently have had some sort of stretch marks, since my youngest date was in her very late 40's. (The oldest was in her late 60's and probably had almost the fewest stretch marks of all, for some reason. Not sure why.)

Personally i don't mind, if i really liked a girl and thought this was the one, i would not be turned off by a few stretch marks.

I kmow im not a guy but I too have worried about this. When I left my first hubbie he told me no man would want me with stretch marks, he was completely wrong. No bloke I was with was ever turned off by them. My new hubbie went through a phase of jealousy because he hadnt put them there but since we had a child of our own he no longer feels that way. I still hate them but they have never caused me a problem x
