hello

i recnetly answerd a question on yahoo answer, it was to a guy who wounderd why he was hated at work. with what he said i belived him to be hated because of how he treated gay people at work. i am a christian and was sooo shock at how he talk about people who are gay as i have always be taught by my parents that there is nothing wrong with being gay and that you should should accept everyone no what!!

SO i sent a friendly reply saying that he should accept who they are and then they will accept him, and that i thought it was wrong that he should be so angry to people who are gay. i got a reply abck saying that god hates people who are gaya and alot of people sent me this reply, it has got me thinking that maybe i was wrong, i dont feel like i was wrong but i just feel as though if some many people are telling me this that it must be right.

who do i belive? should i belive what people are telling me and what is printed in balck and white or do i go with my heart and carry on belive that everyones equal no matter what? and if i do go with what my heart says should i feel guilty that i am making some people in the christian comunity angrey? =/

A female reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2011):

Hi

The God i believe in does not preach hate and teach people to curse other people who are gay and he/she is not judgmental? .. the KEY WORD HERE is To follow your own heart which appears to be very kind and loving, but i advice you that any religious person who preaches hate...is not equal...they are fooling themselves as well as others in the guise of religion. You are very young find your OWN way follow your heart not hateful words.

A male reader, Cerberus_Raphael Sweden +, writes (15 May 2011):

Cerberus_Raphael agony auntWell what do you think? Should you believe your heart or what others tell you? When others come to believe the same lie, do you conform and accept their words without logic or do you trust in what you KNOW to be true.God loves us all regardless of our colour or our beliefs and certainly regardless of whom we choose to love. As long as we love at all, God loves us. Personally, I trust in Jesus' own words and no other because I believe he knew what was right, I believe his words truly brought about peace and will do so again. People choose to corrupt themselves just because some one else put their own sordid opinions in the bible where only Christ's words should have been and Christ taught us to love others and love everything, Christ taught us to cherish the love we receive and to give it freely to ALL. What you know in your heart to be true is true. Don't doubt it for even a second.

A female reader, bethevans United Kingdom +, writes (15 May 2011):

bethevans agony auntHello there, well i am actually catholic so therefore i believe that there is nothing wrong with being gay.

they are being very wrong in what they are saying because if they researched into it they would realise that firstly, there are 4 sets of christians, evangelicals who believe being gay is fine because in the bible it says "we are all equal in the eyes of god" also catholics (myself) believe it's fine again because :

1) the same quote and

2) because being gay is not a decision it is something you are born with. it's completely natural and there is nothing wrong with it.

3) there are anglicans, they also agree that there is nothing wrong with gay people, if you look in the news that there was big blow up because people didn't like that they had a gay priest among them, but the church actually decided that it was fine as long as he remained celibate (no sex) as all priests have to do this whether they are straight or gay.

4)finally, there are quakers, they have no united view but go by a personal conscience..

if you are gay, then that's how it is, and that you should be treated the same as everyone else!

Go with your heart and with what christians actually believe! never let anyone guide you out of what you believe sweetheart! xx
