That's a pet-name that many couples use. In fact, my mother-in-law sometimes calls my father-in-law "Daddy".
Personally, I don't like the name used in that way. My wife and I are partners on a team. We each have roles and responsibilities, some of which are unique to one gender or the other - however, she is not subordinate to me, and I'm not in any sense "raising" her.
