Honest Answer agony auntHere is the litmus test for unprotected sex: If you are in a relationship with someone and are willing and able to bring a child into this world, but all means, have and enjoy unprotected sex. Your reproductive system (and sexual health for that matter) outweights any alledged allergies.

Good Luck!

yes, it is possible for someone to be allergic to LATEX condoms, but its very very rare so most likely he did say that to trick you. Many guys use this to get women to have unprotected sex with them. You should go for a check-up and make sure everything is okay. They also sale lamb skin condoms for those whom are allergic to latex but it only protects you from getting pregnant but not from getting any std's.

Danielepew agony auntI understand that the diagnosis of several STD's is very quick. If it is AIDS, however, you need to wait for several months. At least where I live.

I'm going to question your age as you don't appear to be 30-35. Yes you can be allergic to condoms but you can get latex free condoms so it is no excuse for unprotected sex. Seek advice from your doctor to test for STD's and pregnancy.

A female reader, Carrot2000 United States +, writes (28 May 2010):

Carrot2000 agony auntThere is such a thing as non-latex condoms. Someone who truly is allergic would know this. Yep, it was a trick.

You should be scared because you're 30-35 and you fell for his excuse.

A male reader, Danielepew Mexico +, writes (28 May 2010):

Danielepew agony auntSome people are indeed allergic to latex. However, I think this would be a good excuse for not wearing a condom. If you wanted protection from certain diseases, you should have made sure he was indeed allergic.

Since you had sex, what's done is done.

A reader, anonymous, writes (28 May 2010):

He could be allergic to condoms, but there are hypoallergenic condoms available.

It could be a trick, it's also possible that he doesn't know about them although if he's your age 30-35 and he's always been allergic to them then he should know about the safe ones.

Only you can decide, which is true.
