My wife and I have tried everything and the best masturbation lotion is Masterjack Gentleman's Massage Lotion. It is simply the best male lube lotion that I have ever encountered!

Hmm. Well, I've had a wide range of stuff down there, and I prefer vaseline or lubes that feel "oily". Lotion doesn't stay wet or slick very long, and if it dries, it gets thick, then rubbery, and that's when chafing can set in...not good.

'Liquid Silk' brand sexual lubricant is cool too for all over use, including vaginal dryness. Does not have the glycerin that is a problem for some, does not stain up sheets. Has a 'lotion' like feel. Convenient pump bottle. Get it online discreetly. Minimum taste. Good stuff...

just make sure you don't use a lotion or cream before having sex as some can damage condoms. Best thing to do is to go and buy a lubricant. You can usually find them next to the condoms in general stores. Oral sex can also help with lubrication, but if your not ready for that then stick to a lube or lotion. You can buy massage oils, etc in places like Anne Summers too. Or you could be really adventurous and buy some body chocolate.

person12345 agony auntJust so long as it's not for sex, lotion is a very common handjob lubricant. Unscented very basic kinds are best as they are least likely to irritate.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (15 May 2011):

You may not even need one. It depends on how he likes to be handled and how chaffing that is. If lubricant is desirable than anything will do.

The usual problem with using "just anything" for a sexual lubricant -- such as hand cream -- is that they are designed to dry out. Which can be really painful if the two of you are joined at the time. Also, some lubricants (notoriously Vaseline, but also beauty creams) attack condoms, causing them to fail.

But neither of those is an issue for masturbation, since you can feel when the lubricant is drying and add more. So you could use KY or Astroglide, but if there's an issue with that (as it being discovered or it just killing the moment) you could use something else (and I liked the suggestion of Aloe, as that doesn't dry too quickly). You could even shower together and just use soap.
