So my question is, will the doctor give me a prescription to take the pill if i am underage? Where i live the age of consent is 16 with parental consent and 18 otherwise, so does this mean i would have to notify my parents?

You can go to planned parenthood and get the pill. You should seriously consider the road your headed down first. The women I know who had sex that early all wished they had waited. The temptation is strong but its not all its cracked up to be. What your doing now is called experimenting, and if you insist on doing so you should be safe because the consequences are VERY VERY severe. If what you want is to actuly have fulfilling real and satisfying SEX you should wait a few years because your just taking risks untill then.

Yes Anonymous, it's right that you don't have to ask for your parents to sign or anything, just go to your docter or free sex clinc and explain and they will give it to you.

But when I was around your age I went to the gyno and she said that even though she could she did not want to get me on the pill because I was so young and she thought I was too naive to really be able to know for sure if I was in a monogamous relationship. Which I was! And I told her I was! I didn't understand. She just wanted me to keep using condoms and was afraid that I wouldn't if I was on the pill. Well I didn't argue with her about it. But guess what? She was right! It turns out that my "monogamous" boyfriend had been cheating on me all along. And I am very thankful for her. The point is that at your age sometimes you are too young to know the signs of a "bad" guy. And also you are at an age that runs the highest risk of contracting STDs. My advice to you is my gyno's advice to me. Just be CAREFUL and wear a condom EVERYTIME!
