writes:heyi got my ears pierced (one on each ear) a couple of hours ago.i know that i have to clean it with this special lotion, but can i now have a soak in the bath/ a shower and get my ears/ new piercings wet?what are the rules on this?please help cos i dont want to do anyhting wrong! xxx Reply to this Question

I wouldn't get your ear piercing wet because you could end up with a nasty infection.

hey hun!
well first of all clean your ears with the lotion once in the morning and once before you go to bed. sure you can get them wet but just dont take them out until 6/8 weeks has passed by.
if youre doing sport get special tape to put over your ears so you get no nasty accidents.

 I wouldn't soak with my ears in the water, but it's fine to get them wet and wash your hair. Make sure that you use the lotion after your bath and rotate or wiggle the piercings. We were told with a post to rotate it a quarter turn a few times a day, with clean fingers only. TasteofIndia had a great idea to leave them in longer than they recommended - three months should have them healed up nicely and ready for you to change earrings. I did find that nickel in cheap sterling became a problem after I had my ears pierced, and I've been allergic to nickel ever since. I hear that this reaction is extremely common.

You can certainly get your new piercings wet. Be sure to keep them nice and clean and I recommend not taking them out for a little more then the suggested time. They usually say 6-8 weeks, but I'd wait for more like 3 months.
