He said it was over for me to give him a hand job but not oral. So I did. He was not having an outbreak at the time and I washed my hands a few minutes after i was done giving him the hand job. I used hot soapy water. So my point is..can i get herpes from giving him hand jobs? I am kinda freaking out because of this. I like him a lot too but I don't think I could ever be intimate with him again. He has said he has been with many women and none of them ever got it from him. What are the chances that I could have gotten HSV from him? Thanks a lot.

 Probably not from the hand job, but kissing can also transmit oral herpes, with which many carriers also may infected. I have no personal experience, but I think that kissing someone with cold sores at the corners of the mouth may be quite risky. There is a lot of information online about genital and oral herpes.

 As the previous poster says, I doubt that you would have contracted herpes from him, but if you have any kind of sexual contact with him again, ask him to use a condom. Better safe than sorry!
This is a horrible affliction to have as it will always be there, poor guy. At least he was honest with you, but always always be safe! You only have one body, so treat it well.

So long as you washed your hands properly, then there is a only a very very small chance. I don't think you'll have it, but if you're worried at all, don't be afraid to get yourself tested. Also please remember that he is more than just herpes. There are a few people with herpes, but it doesn't mean that they're not good people. he did tell you after all, so bear that in mind.
