writes: Is it possible to lose your hymen with a dildo? If so, how can you tell if you've lost it? This weekend was my first time using a dildo, and I bled. I'm not sure if I a) lost my hymen b) caused my cervix to bleed c) caused some other area in there to bleed. I know I wasn't on my period. The dildo was one of those cheap ones. I probably should've gotten one of the soft ones, but yeah it was one of those cheap ones and it wasn't designed that well. If I did lose my hymen I would be very sad, because I wanted to lose it to my future husband, or not at all. I know if this is the case, I should not have been using it to begin with. I was in a lot of pain and lube that my bf gave me to use just irritated me down there. What are your thoughts?

I told yall that my hymen didn't break (I know this because I went to the doctor, and SHE SAID SO, and it was probably my cervix that ended up bleeding.) The hymen is in the front of the vagina and if it is the crescent type that is at the bottom, something can just go over it without tearing it. All hymens are different. Type in "hymen" in google, click on images, and you will see what I mean. Go to coolnurse.com, and do some research, k?
I didn't lose my hymen to a dildo, I lost it to my husband.

well....i am a virgin. i tried a dildo before, i only could stick it in like halfway because it started to hurt too bad...and i didn't bleed, i probley have done broken my hymen, but i think if u bled then most likley you have broken it, and i know how you feel about worry. i think the problem of why i can't stick the dildo all the way is that its not all the pain that stops me, its the fact that i don't want anyone to tell me i lost my virgenity to a dildo. because i really would rather experience the pain with someone i really care about...and it is hard to find virgin boys these days. :/ i am only 14 and most guys this age wants sex and thats all.

What had happened was I ended up with an abrasion on my labia and she said that the area looked really irritated. She also said that there were no tears at all.

You're still a virgin so why cry over losing your hymen?
At least now, when you do come to have proper sex, the pain and bleeding are already out of the way.

I am going to get it checked out by the school nurse. I am still very sad about losing it, and in response to the sarcastic comment someone made, no I did not think it had a "flesh sensor," but I have put other objects into there without my hymen breaking before. It is usually very elastic. Regardless, I know that my bf considers me a virgin and still loves me as much as he always has.

Well i've never used one before amd my girl doesn't use it but i'm guessing it's designed in the same way as a penis. It also seems like the thought of you losing your hymen disturbs you but i guess you need to wake up to the fact that you might have lost it.However, whether your future husband will still consider you a virgin is a matter of perception.Personally for me i would take it that your dildo took your virginity but i've already seen some other people in here don't agree with me.It really depends on how your future husband will look upon it.Take care.

Ummm...the short answer is Yes.If you put an object into your vagina then yes, the hymen would be broken. However I think the question is whether you are still a virgin. And the short answer is Yes.You have not had sex with anyone, placing the vibrator inside you is not the same as sex, I would say its no different than a finger or tampon.Relax, your first time with the man you love will still be beautiful and special.

Some have lost it using tampons (not that frequently) or horseback riding- the question is- how did you not know that you would lose it? What did you think- the hymen has a flesh sensor to tell if a dildo is a real penis or not? Anyway- due to the pain and bleeding I'd say you broke it. Think of it this way- your first time having sex is going to be more enjoyable now that the pain and bleeding are out of the way.

So don't sweat it. To not be a virgin you actually have to be penetrated in the vagina by a proper male penis. In fact this really the only definition of Sex in its purest form. No matter what lesbians and gays like to think. So don't sweat it.Flynn 24

The hymen, as you know, is simply a thin membrane. You probably did tear it when you used a dildo, which would pretty much do the same thing as any penis would. Your virginity is not determined by how intact your hymen is (many girls have no visible hymens) but by the first time a penis enters your vagina. You can still save that for your future husband.

Well im sorry to say that if you did bleed then its more and likely you did lose your hymen but if you really are that worried then i suggest you go to your gp and get checked out. I suggest you not use that dildo anymore because it may cause you irrtation down below as it will be made of some really cheap material and if you do need this then get a softer one and a little more expensive because it will be alot safer for you in the long run as some of these cheap ones can cause allergic reactions etc.Any more problems then please feel free to contact me and i will do my best to help you sort out your problems.
