Budgeted birthday gift ideas?

A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I need some ideas as to what to get my boyfriend for his birthday. He will be 36 years old. I asked him what he wanted and he said that he has everything he wants which I think is great but doesn't help me! What do you get the man who says he has everything he wants? He says he doesn't need clothes, watches, toiletries, etc. We've done things like theatre trips and meals, and I have given him hobby-related gifts in the past. I was going to get him some lottery tickets but I want to get him some more things. I don't have a great deal of money as I am on a low wage and we are trying to save for somewhere to live but if you have some original and memorable budget birthday ideas for men, I'd be so grateful but I don't have a lot of time as his birthday is this week! Thank you guys!!!

misswalston agony auntThe photo suggestion from Shiraz is a great idea. I also have another suggestion. How about a picnic dinner on the beach. Very original, inexpensive, and I believe it would be memorable. Cook some of his favorites, pack it up, nice beach blanket and maybe some flameless candles. I think he would be very pleasantly surprised.........good luck and I hope you both enjoy his birthday!!!!!!

Guys always say this but they always expect something! Im sure your guy knows about the money issues and your saving up for a huge commitment which probably means more to him than anything. Why not be inventive? you say youve been to all these great events well do you have any photos? Gather all the photos you have of him, you and the two of you together, buy one of those huge frames and arrange them together, that way your saving money, the memories and youve put thought into it. Thats just one idea, get creative but within reason, set a budget and dont fall over that. Why not surprise him, something that doesnt cost a penny if you know where im going!

Best of luck, have a lovely day both of you
