I would usually get some White discharge between periods, but today it was brown - this has never happened before. I had protected sex yesterday, and checked the condom after - it was fine. Also, my boyfriend and I were both virgins, and haven't slept with anyone else after getting together - so it couldn't be an STI?!I'm a little worried as this hasn't happened before...Any suggestions?

I don't think it would be my hymen breaking a I've been active for about 2 years now. It's still a little brown today, but I think I'll leave it another few days before going to my GP - it'll hopefully be ok'd blood!

If you're worried you're pregnant, the likelihood is low since you used protection. It may be related to losing your virginity--some women bleed a little when the hymen is broken during their first sexual intercourse.
Either way, you need to go to a gynecologist. Bleeding between periods could be a sign of some gynecological problems such as polycystic ovarian syndrome or endometriosis. Neither of these are STDs and I'm not suggesting that, but other things other than STDs can occur.

It's probably just random spotting, but you should double check with a gynecologist.

She advised me it is most likely old blood (sorry don’t know the proper way to say it) that has remained inside of you and your body is discharging it when it feels the need. I experienced this the years after I had my baby. I have found that douching regularly and especially around your menstrual cycle help it.
