reader, anonymous, writes (3 April 2012): definitely yes. use flavoured condoms. they are manufactured for oral sex. they taste good (you can choose your favorite flavour) and you won't end up having semen in your mouth. but he will be less sensitive so you may get tired before he can finish.
speaking of finishing, most of the guys can't cum by only receiving a bj. usually the girl gets him close and then, she (or he) use the hand to finish. so, you don't have to worry that much about it. ask him beforehand to let you know when he is going to cum, and you can decide what to do.

Like previously advised - Condoms are good for protection. In my opinion having sampled flavoured condoms when in my younger years, they aren't that good, and the flavour goes within minutes.
A true gent will tell you when he is about to cum! However, I have found that a mans penis goes a lot harder when he is about to cum - so once you start recognising the change in the stiffness of your boyfriends penis when it is in your hand and mouth, you may be able to prepare yourself so that it doesn't end up in your mouth.

As the others said he should give you warning beforehand anyway and you just finish him with your hand.
I must add though that if he precums a lot then a condom may be your only option. Unless precum doesn't bother you.

Though you don't have to have him finish in your mouth, you can have him get close and then finish him with your hands or something. Just make sure to tell him to give you a warning. I also cannot stand to have a guy finish in my mouth. If a guy intentionally (meaning he didn't do it on accident) tried to force you to take it in your mouth, that is sexual assault.

That said, a true gentleman gives the girl a warning, so she can choose to not have it in her mouth. That clearly requires a level of trust. But if he understands that not giving fair warning means the last ever bj, well, most guys figure it out.
