But are there also pains in that case and if there are, are they the same kind of pains or do they feel diferent? Basically is there anything that will make them easy to tell apart from menstruation? As far as getting a period while pregnant goes, it is very uncommon, and you would not notice a difference in cramping etc. Some women do get a period while pregnant though. I can't describe what it feels like to be pregnant, but most women just feel something off. If you feel like you could be pregnant, even though you got a period, take an at home test. Better safe than sorry.

No, chances are you just have your period, a pregnacy test can help determine if your pregnant 5 days before your missed period. But since you are bleeding I doubt that you are pregnant. The reason woman get there period is so that way, when we do get pregnant all the blood from any of your periods over the 9 months goes to the baby. This makes it so you dont bleed at all while your pregnant with the exception of certain health issues, it is also where the fetus get the blood to become a baby.

Menstuation you normally bleed at a certain time each month and there is normally a set amount of time between each period. If you bleed outside this time then it is possible you could be bleeding in pregnancy, of course you can't confirm this until you take a pregnancy test as stress, medication and other lifestyle changes can affect the timing of your period... is this what you're asking?

Nitru is verified as being by the original poster of the questionRight... I am not pregnant. Atleast I hope im not. But since you can obviolsy bleed during pregnancy then obviosly i cant be sure if its menstruation or just bleeding during pregnancy. So theres no way to be sure without a pregnancy test. I know why the bleeding during pregnancy is but HOW CAN I TELL IT APART FROM MENSTRUATION?

where is the bleeding coming from?
The most common signs of bleeding dont always come from the vigina amongst pregnant woman and you won't be able to tell this from just looking at your panties. If you are not cramping or showing any others signs of pain then it's probablly a serious hemroid. This is when the blood vescles in your anus swell up because the growth of the baby and also the changes in your body causing you to bleed out your butt. It's disgusting and wierd but it is just another pregnacy symptom you have to deal with. It will go away after you give birth, I had this when I was pregnant. To be honest I didn't consult my doctor about this because I did not want her shoving her fingers up my butt. Women that have excesive periods will often spot through out there pregnancy. If the bledding hasn't gone away in a few days go to your doctor.
P.s. This book answered all my pregnacy questions so I am recomending it for you: "What to expect when your expecting"

reader, anonymous, writes (14 April 2010): it depends on how far along the pregnancy is. If the pregnancy is less than 20 weeks the doctors wont do anything for the bleeding. So unless you are soaking more than one pad within an hour and are having severe pain, the bleeding wont be treated.
At any point past 20 weeks you should go to the hospital right away! It could be a miscarriage, premature labor, placenta previa, or a placental abruption. I had a placental abruption and I bled off and on throughout my entire pregnancy. If the placenta detaches from the uterine wall it can cut off oxygen from the baby and cause the mother to bleed out. If you have an abruption the doctor will want to monitor you the entire pregnancy because if the baby looses too much oxygen they will have to do an emergency c-section. An abrupion threatens the life of mother and baby, and cannot be taken lightly.
Placenta previa is when the placenta is sitting right over the cervix, and it usually moves in the middle of the pregnancy. If you have this the bleeding is most likely from sex or pushing too much during a BM. Due to the location of the placenta, any pressure on it can literally squeeze some blood out.
Anyway, bleeding during pregnancy is not something to take lightly. See a doctor right away. Your life and your baby's life might depend on it. Had I not sought medical help after I began bleeding, I would have gone into active labor at 21 weeks pregnant and my baby probably would have died. See a doctor because you can't judge what type of bleeding you have based on the level of pain. Good luck!
