You can have an appointment with your gyn even with your parents' knowledge. Even if your mom goes with you the doctor will find a way to make her leave the room before s/he pops the "are you sexually active?" question. Ask about the birth control and take all the tests necessary. then I guess you can get the BC from the places mentioned by the other answerers. Also, even if you're under BC, don't forget to use a condom. They're inexpensive, sold everywhere and will bring extra protection and also protect you both against STDs. Even if you are in a super trusted monogamous relationship you could develop, say, a yeast infection (happens a lot for many many reasons) and pass it on to your bf, or your BC could stop being effective (pills and certain antibiotics for example) and cause an unwanted pregnancy.

Try any women's clinic in your area. However, keep in mind that in some states women under 18 need a parent's permission, so be sure to check online or call ahead. In all honesty I'd check a local clinic before Planned Parenthood, they're generally a little better and are almost always better about providing this sort of thing less expensively. Especially since Planned Parenthood is having some trouble with funding as of late. Just make sure it has a good reputation before going, some religious groups set up clinics strictly for the purpose of denying birth control and other services.

You have to get a pap smear first, but if you don't want your parents to know you have to say you have no insurance. They will go by how much income and how many people in one household to determine how much you will pay per month for the birth control. It's never very much though. I'm glad your being smart and getting on BC that really shows how responsible you are. : )

at 17 your doctor should be able to talk to you without mom or dad
i took my 15 yr old daughter to the gyn and I was NOT permitted back in the room... so they could talk privately
the doctor will not speak to me about her.

Seek out your local planned parenthood clinic. Just watch out for the protestors out front.
