Use a nice 'Durex' condom...ultra thin...and ask him to wear a cock ring also and drive you wild....!

The only thing that's important is that they fit him. Any latex condom is fine, just make sure you get the size right or it could slip off.

All condoms have roughly the same effectiveness rate - but it isn't 100%. Rather than focus on the best brand, focus on following the packet instructions and making sure you both know how to fit one properly (better sorted out when you are not in a midst of passion when passion and lack of lighting can be a problem). You are more fertile at certain times of your monthly cycle than others. If you want to play safe, read up on safe times for you. There are no fool proof forms of contraception but if you are sensible then you reduce the risks of an unwanted pregnancy. If you are worried then you should see a doctor to discuss non-pill forms of contraception. There is the cap, the coil etc.

IF used properly, they're all the same percentage of effectiveness (except maybe lambskin? I was taught never to do lambskin), so brand doesn't matter. size matters a litle, if he's slightly above average he still should probably use normal size but if he's signficantly larger and finds the regulars way too tight there are larger sizes.
When I wasn't on the pill, I was paranoid about it not being 100% effective, so I doubled up on contraceptives, my bf would use condoms and I would use spermacide gel/foam, the sponge, or these speramcide films you fold up and insert inside yourself. If you choose to do the same, be sure to look at the labels to make sure the spermacide is compatible with the condom (usually are but it's important to check on).

Any condom will do. I'd stick with a name brand. Just one of those "you pay for what you get."
